Holiday Shopping Tips

It’s quickly approaching the most wonderful time of the year! The holidays are right around the corner, and if you’re like me, you try to be a very conscientious shopper. Budget is my middle name (OK, it’s not, but is should be)! I strive to find the best deals to make my dollar stretch while considering my family’s Christmas wish lists. Below I have compiled a list of some tips and tricks I’ve used over the years that I thought might be helpful to others:

  1. Ebates (or another platform of the like): I have been with Ebates for years and have loved their service! Basically, they pay you a percentage of your purchase back if you use them as a platform to get to your favorite stores’ websites. They have a long list of eligible stores and during the holiday season, the percentage back rises! Every quarter you get a check. It’s fantastic!
  2. Shop Around: Yup, it’s just that easy. Take the time to plan what you like to purchase and view all of the Black Friday online deals. These great deals combined with other weekly flyer specials can save you a ton. It’s totally worth your due diligence.
  3. Shop Clearance: Many merchants move older products to clearance to try and make room for the hot new Christmas toys. However, that doesn’t mean that there is anything wrong with the clearance market goods.
  4. Last Resort, Wait As Long As Possible To Make Your Purchase: This can be a gamble! The longer you wait to make your purchase, the better deals you will possibly find. Retailers do not want to be stuck with 10,000 Hatchimals that are a hot holiday item and hold little value after the “rush” is over. However, you may risk your purchase selling out or not making it in time for the big day. Choose wisely!
